OUR INTERIM SENIOR MINISTER
The Reverend Dr. Mary A. Tumpkin currently serves as the President of the Universal Foundation for Better Living. She is the second president in the 33-year history of the organization. Under Dr. Tumpkin’s leadership, the UFBL established the Johnnie Colemon Theological Seminary, located in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The Reverend Dr. Tumpkin is the founding minister of the Universal Truth Center for Better Living, a UFBL affiliate in Miami Gardens. For the past 25 years, she has served as the Senior Minister, tirelessly devoting herself to the Center’s mission to “empower people to develop their potential by awakening their divine nature.” Two independent non-profit Center affiliates have emerged as a result of Dr. Tumpkin’s vision of empowerment and abundant living: the Universal Truth Community Development Corporation addresses the business development, housing, and educational needs of the surrounding community; and the Universal Academy, a not-for-profit child care and early learning center, accepts students ranging from three months old through first grade. Recently, all of the Universal Truth organizations were joined together under one umbrella holding corporation, the Universal Truth International Corporation (UTIC).
Dr. Tumpkin holds a Doctorate of Ministry degree from the Florida Center for Theological Studies. An acclaimed author, speaker, and teacher of Truth principles, allegorical Bible interpretation, and historical Bible, Dr. Tumpkin has lectured throughout the United States, as well as in England, Canada, South America, and the Caribbean. She is known for her powerful, energetic, and often humorous preaching style and her ability to express the message of Jesus the Christ in a relevant, practical, and accessible way. Dr. Tumpkin’s dynamic leadership in ministry has won her numerous commendations. She serves as the President of the Society for the Study of Metaphysical Religion and a member of the Board of the International New Thought Alliance, the Florida Center for Theological Studies, the Westar Institute, and the National Conference for Community and Justice.
